On 14 April 1944 ‘Supermarine Spitfire MK356’ Piloted by Flying Officer ‘Gord’ Ockenden, this very spitfire flew its first operational mission as part of a ‘Rodeo’ fighter sweep over occupied France.
Later that year on the 7 June 1944 ‘Gord’ opened fire at a ME Bf 109G and was accredited with a half share kill after after his wing-man finished it off.
